Do you or someone you may know qualify for Medicaid or Medicare?
  • What is home health care?
Home health care is a wide range of health care services that can be provided in your home for an illness or injury. Home health care is usually less expensive, more convenient, and just as effective as care you get in a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
  • Who is eligible for home health care?
Eligibility for home health care is typically determined by a healthcare provider based on the individual's medical needs. Generally, individuals who require skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech therapy, or occupational therapy may be eligible for home health care services.
  • Who would benefit from home health care?
Home health care can benefit individuals who require medical care, assistance with daily activities, rehabilitation services, and monitoring of health conditions in the comfort of their own homes. It is particularly beneficial for those recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or needing specialized care.
  • Who pays for home health care services?
Home health care services can be paid for by various sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and out-of-pocket payments. The coverage and eligibility criteria may vary depending on the individual's insurance plan and specific circumstances.
  • How long will I receive home health care?
Your doctor will determine the number of visits you receive, how often the visits should occur and how long they should last, based on your needs and health status.
  • What's the difference between home health care, hospice care, and personal care?
Home health care focuses on medical services provided in the home, such as skilled nursing, therapy, and medical monitoring. Hospice care is for individuals with a terminal illness, providing comfort care and support at the end of life. Personal care, also known as home care or custodial care, assists with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
